MEET MAMA LITA
This wonderful lady operates a children’s home that The Way has supported since 2017. We have supported this home financially since March 2020. Mama Lita and her husband started a children’s home and a school many years ago. Her husband passed away in 2017, but she still continues to run with their vision. Mama Lita is continually hosting and organizing outreach programs to help those in need.
THE CHILDREN’S HOME
There are 51 children in Mama Lita’s children’s home. She loves and cares for each child as they were her own! It’s really amazing. Each child is given excellent care and is enrolled into development programs to help them succeed in life. Many of the children have graduated with their post secondary diplomas while in her care and then became successful in their occupations.
The children’s home has a massive green house and livestock, not to mention a rice farm. They are very self sufficient! Each child is raised in a family atmosphere with dedicated house-parents. They all come together for each meal to sing together and encourage one another. A positively amazing environment for the children to grow safely!
Some of the stories of how these children ended up at the home would break your heart. We are so thankful that Mama Lita offers these children such an amazing opportunity that supports recovery and healing.
PRIVATE SCHOOL
Mama Lita also oversees a private school from kindergarten to grade 12 with 321 students! This school started with one grade at a time. It’s now the top school in the area. (Pretty impressive, right?)
HEART FOR COMMUNITY
Mama Lita has a genuine passion for God! She runs an amazing church onsite and oversees many other churches with excellence. She is often helping these churches do more in their own communities too! We can’t say enough about her and we’re so thankful for the privilege to partner with her in the Philippines.
Our family absolutely loves this place and have been there a few times and are looking forward to visiting again in the future.
Did Mama Lita’s life story bless you? Help us increase our monthly support from $500 to $1000 each month! You can give online today.
